The Legend

Inda Yakkha

Inda Yakkha is a Purisart — a deity-yaksha and attendant of Thao Vessavana, the great king of the North who governs every host of spirits, ghosts, and demons. In Thai tradition, the Purisart's charge is to keep that host in order. Should any spirit stray from command or bring harm to the living, he seizes and devours it on the spot. For this reason he is venerated as the destroyer of malevolent spirits — a guardian against black magic, curses, nightmares, and every form of ill omen. To enshrine Inda Yakkha is to keep a constant sentinel by one's side: a watcher who turns away every dark thing before it can reach your life.
